My dear University Community,

We recently held the 2020-2021 Matriculation ceremony and I hereby take this opportunity to welcome new students to campus and wish them a tremendous joy and satisfaction in their assumption to the great UofA of Nigeria. The 2020-2021 Admisison exercise is now CLOSED.
I am happy to release the data for this year`s admission, please see attached. I am very proud to show that your great University has admitted students from every state this year. I am also very proud that we have significantly upgraded the admission of students from the University host community, the FCT. This is a thing of pride to a great University!
Finally, I want to assure all that as we do our best into future to seek to make student admission into our great University fraudless, we shall seek to institute scholarship programs for students from all categories. We shall advertise to solicit for support from wealthy Nigerians and philanthropists internationally.
The UofA has started Student Mentoring Program targeted at first year students, I like to request all stakeholders, especially the HODs, the Deans and all upper-level students, to give their support to this uniquely UofA program. The University seeks to be known nationally and internationally as the University where student mentoring is at its highest standards.
I also like to use this opportunity to let all staff and students know that the 2019-2020 Convocation Ceremony has been postponed for some cogent reasons. However, please be assured that the new date would not be too long. The University Calender is very important and nothing will be done to jeorpaidze the excitement of our dear graduating students to receive their degrees and have closure in a befitting ceremony.
I like to thank staff and students for their continued support.
All my best wishes and please feel free to let me know if there are ways I can be of assistance to you.
Abdul-Rasheed Vice Chancellor University of Abuja
